Our Journey

Monash Health is excited to offer an ongoing, part-time, Clinical Nurse Educator position in our medical-surgical nursing program. This position will be based across sites supporting the Cancer services nursing education program. This is a clinical leadership position providing education and training to advance the clinical competency of staff working in units who care for patients with haematology and/or oncology presentations. The position is supported by our Nursing and Midwifery Education and Strategy (NaMES) department, working alongside other passionate clinical education team members.

A Day in the Life

Working closely at the bedside with our nursing workforce, the role is pivotal in implementing Monash Health education frameworks and project planning to continuously improve and remain contemporary in our education delivery. Some of your specific accountabilities will include:

  • Providing contemporary education that promotes best practice standards
  • Providing clinical support to staff of all proficiency levels, novice to expert
  • Demonstrating and promoting best practice standards
  • Helping to ensure that through a highly skilled and educated workforce, our patients receive safe and high quality care
  • Working collaboratively with the leadership team including the multi-disciplinary team
  • Working collaboratively with key stakeholders to develop targeted training programs

About You

Working closely with key stakeholders you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience, and knowledge:

  • Recent relevant clinical experience in cancer nursing, including competency in chemotherapy administration.
  • Completion of postgraduate qualifications in nursing, or working towards.
  • Previous experience as an educator in acute nursing setting will be highly regarded.
