Our Journey

Monash Children’s Hospital is one of Australia’s leading providers of integrated children’s health services, with more than 30 specialist services and programs. We have Victoria’s largest Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and provide leading paediatric services in many areas including Rehabilitation, Oncology, Diabetes and Eating Disorders. Dietetics at Monash Children’s provides services to paediatric inpatients, outpatients and Monash Children’s @Home patients across Monash Children’s and Casey Hospitals. This role will be working 3 days per week primarily in the acute setting at Monash Children’s Hospital managing medically complex children, including in the paediatric intensive care unit (PICU).

A Day in the Life

As a grade 2 Dietitian with Monash Children’s Allied Health you will:

  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary colleagues across the service to foster clinical excellence and consistency of practice.
  • You will provide comprehensive nutritional assessment, and implement therapeutic diets and enteral/ parenteral nutritional support for medically complex children.
  • Travel may be required to Casey Hospital

This position is well supported by a large, dynamic, team with supervision by a Senior Paediatric Dietitian. The position offers training, professional development, the opportunity to cover a range of clinical areas and undertake quality and research activities.

What you need:

  • A relevant Dietetics qualification - eligible for membership of the Dietitians Association of Australia and APD program.
  • Experience as a Paediatric Dietitian in the acute setting
  • Demonstrated clinical skills in paediatric nutritional assessment and management
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, a strong team focus and an innovative approach
