Summary:

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible to the Board of Directors for the operational management of Moogji.

The CEO provides leadership for the organisation and is supported by a Management Team that includes the Aboriginal Health Manager, Aboriginal Wellbeing Manager, Environmental and Cultural Works Manager, Finance Manager and Office Manager.

Responsibilities:

This position will have overall responsibility for the management and reporting of the organisation, both to the funding bodies and to the Board of Directors, with tasks covering the key results area's:

  • General Management & Service Development
  • Financial Management
  • Quality, Risk and Compliance4.
  • Management of assets and infrastructure
  • External representation and relationship management
  • Board Administration and Support

Qualifications:

The Board of Moogji are looking for someone who has prior experience at executive leadership as well as the core skills required to ensure success. These include:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Relevant and recent management qualifications
  • Training in First Aid and CPR within the past three years
  • A National Police Check will be required before finalising the appointment and then routinely every three years. NB: If you have worked overseas an international police check many also be required.
  • A Working with Children Check is required prior to commencement and then every five years.
  • A current Victorian Driver’s License.
  • Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination must be provided and maintained continually under Department of Health guidelines.
  • Work rights in Australia or be eligible for such.

About Moogji Aboriginal Council:

Moogji Aboriginal Council (Moogji) came into being in 1989 when the then Aboriginal Women and Children’s Group and Moogji Aboriginal Cooperative combined.

Today at Moogji we support community members through their life journeys to achieve the best health and wellbeing outcomes possible, strengthen cultural and community connections and reach employment and economic development goals. We do this through the provision of quality services and programs in a culturally safe environment, facilitating employment and training opportunities, supporting strong community leadership and advocating for community needs and aspirations.

Remuneration:

This is initially a three (3) year appointment with options to extend (subject to funding and a six-month probation). A suitable package will be negotiated for the successful applicant.
