Multicultural Services Centre (MSC) is an established provider of diverse community services to culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD) Western Australians. The Centre has been providing a range of programs and services to migrants and refugees for over 40 years. Our Vision is an inclusive society that values diversity.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

MSC is seeking to employ experienced and committed cook (Vietnamese Cuisine) to work in the following programs:

• Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP), which provides culturally appropriate social support services to older and frail aged CaLD community members.

About the Role

A working day will involve:

• Preparation and serving of meals (Vietnamese Foods)
• Ensure the highest standards of food quality, test, presentation, and consistency.
• Preparing meals according to dietary plans and menus developed.
• Managing receipt of stores, and food storage according to the relevant regulations.
• Ensuring correct food handling techniques are always observed.
• Collaborate with management to innovate and enhance our culinary offerings.

You should ideally be an empathetic person who:

• Enjoys working with the elderly.
• Can work independently and as part of a team.
• Has availability and flexibility to work over weekdays
• Can communicate effectively both verbally and written.

You should possess the following:

• Proven experience as a Cook in Vietnamese food
• Extensive knowledge of traditional ingredients, spices, and cooking techniques.
• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or Certificate III in Individual support (or equivalent).
• Experience in food preparation and cooking for large number of people (30 heads)
• Aged Care experience (not mandatory)
• A high level of food safety knowledge.
