Responsibilities of your role

Reporting to the Senior Fundraising Manager – Philanthropy, this key management role is accountable for MSF’s philanthropy program across Australia and New Zealand. Taking the lead in driving donor engagement and delivery of fundraising revenue from high-capacity donors, trusts and foundations, you will inspire and grow the capability of your team, while developing unique offerings to cultivate new and steward an established portfolio of amazing donors.

Your delivery of high touch and personal relationship focused fundraising will champion a journey of growth within the Philanthropy team. Contribute to the achievement of ambitious revenue goals through developing initiatives to upgrade donors, creating donor materials, impact reports and compelling cases for support.

In taking ownership of the Philanthropy program, you will collaborate closely with the Senior Fundraising Manager – Philanthropy, broader Fundraising team and Executive Leadership team todevelop strategy and manage budgets, develop policies and improve processes within major giving. You will partner with the broader organisation to ensure the efficient, cost effective and compliant delivery of creative and unique fundraising initiatives.

What you will bring

As a natural leader, you will be known for your talent with engaging and influencing others.  You’ll enjoy building a feeling of connection between donors and the impact of their gifts; have a hunger for chasing fundraising targets; and a passion for building teams. Ideally you will be motivated by being part of a humanitarian aid organisation, and can demonstrate: 

  • Extensive experience executing philanthropy strategy, plus building and managing program deliverables.
  • Track record of increasing year on year revenue.
  • Budget management – revenue and expenditure
  • Demonstrated team leadership and development experience, including management of KPI’s and setting outcomes.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to utilise insights to inform decision making and develop reporting structures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.
  • Knowledge of fundraising principals, regulations and ethical practices.
  • CRM experience (desirable - Salesforce).
