Position summary

My Place is seeking passionate people who are experienced in disability services to join our team as a Co-ordinator. In the role of Co-ordinator, you will work alongside people with disability, their families and allies to co-ordinate their NDIS supports in an individualised manner. The successful candidate will be offered an excellent salary package, the opportunity to salary sacrifice, access to a meals/entertainment card, a 9-day fortnight, flexibility for family commitments, a phone and laptop, 5 weeks' annual leave, 13 weeks long service leave after 7 years together, with numerous other health and wellbeing perks. Whilst this work is primarily community based, the successful applicant will be required to work from a home office based in the Perth Metro area.

About My Place

My Place is an established not-for-profit provider of individualised and flexible supports to people with disability and their families. My Place supports around 400 people with disability to live in their own homes, or remain in their family home, and become valued and contributing members of their community. My Place does not provide any group home, day centre or other congregate care services.

Key selection criteria- My Place Co-ordinator

My Place will be considering the following key selection criteria in filling a Co-ordinator role. Applications will only be considered if you have addressed the Selection Criteria below in no more than three pages.

Required:

  • Demonstrated contemporary attitude and values toward people with disability including promotion of, and adherence to, My Place’s stated values and service charter (See: www.myplace.org.au).
  • Demonstrated well-developed interpersonal, communication and written skills, including in the context of supporting consumers, their support teams and providing staff supervision.
  • Experience in contemporary and innovative service design for individuals, and the implementation and ongoing management of individual support arrangements including funding and budgets.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the NDIS, within an individualised service approach including a clear understanding of NDIS practice standards, Quality and Safeguarding requirements and Incident and Risk management, with an ability to putting Consumers’ interests first whilst balancing any compliance demands.
  • Competent in the use of standard computer packages and information technologies.
  • Ability to work autonomously from a home office, in the community, or office.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in supporting individuals to engage and manage their own supports.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience in planning, claiming and review processes within an NDIA environment.

Qualifications and clearances

  • Qualification/s or experience in a similar role.
  • Possess a current Drivers Licence
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check (NB: if a Check is not held by you, then we can provide the forms for you to obtain a Check before the role commences).
  • Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module (NB: If not done, the Module may be completed prior to the role commencing).
