An exciting opportunity exists a to join our Alice Springs Civil Law team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the Managing Civil Solicitor to oversee the efficient and effective management and administration of the Alice Springs Civil Law practice
- Support the Managing Civil Solicitor to supervise lawyers and oversee the conduct of complex civil law matters
- Lead one of the NAAJA Civil Law core practice groups including leading practise supervision, resource development and strategic thinking
- Work collaboratively with the other NAAJA Civil Law offices
- Undertake responsibilities of the Managing Civil Solicitor in their absence and as delegated
- Advise and represent NAAJA clients in civil law matters
The right candidate will have
- Eligibility for Admission as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of the Northern Territory with at least 5 years practice experience
- Ability to undertake and supervise civil law litigation and casework
- Excellent communication skills, including in cross-cultural settings
- Applicants with police and prison accountability experience encouraged to apply
