NAAJA’s legal practice provides high quality, culturally proficient and accessible advice, casework and court advocacy in both criminal and civil law.
North Australian Aboriginal Justice Agency is seeking a Senior Solicitor / Intermediate Solicitor - Criminal Law to join our dynamic team in Alice Springs. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality legal representation and advice to our clients, with a focus on criminal law matters.
Represent clients in criminal court proceedings, including bail applications, pleas, trials and appeals Advise clients on criminal law matters and their legal rights and options Conduct legal research, prepare legal documents, and liaise with relevant stakeholders Maintain detailed and accurate case files and records Contribute to the development and implementation of NAAJA's legal strategies and policies Collaborate with the wider legal team to ensure the provision of a comprehensive and effective legal service Mentor junior staff and provide guidance and support as required
