The Elder Care Support (ECS) program has been co-designed to not only build the new Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ECS workforce but also set a new benchmark in aged care service support across Australia.

Through this program, NACCHO is working with the Aboriginal community-controlled sector to ensure older Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their families are supported to understand, navigate and access aged care services.

The Project Officer supports the ongoing development of the ECS program and its new workforce through their provision of contract management and administration skills and their ability to engage and build strong, supportive relationships with ECS teams and their organisations plus internal and external stakeholders. In this role you enthusiastically share your skills and expertise to initiate improvements to drive efficiencies, and help develop and coordinate a range of events, meetings and other activities.

This team also enjoys shared opportunities to participate in engagement and support activities and key events as required.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a tertiary qualification and or experience in a relevant field and/or professional experience.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and to manage tasks and projects under limited supervision.
  • Experience in a similar role.
  • Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people will be highly regarded.
  • MS Office skills and experience essential.
  • Knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health issues is preferred
