The services available in Lithgow hospital include Domiciliary care unit, Emergency department, Geriatric assessment unit, Obstetric services, Paediatric service, Drug and Alcohol unit.

Lithgow Hospital is seeking to employee casual wardspersons. In your role as Operating Theatre Wardperson you will ensure the safe transport of patients to and from the Operating Suite and assist in the maintenance and care of equipment used during surgery and also assisting in maintaining a clean and safe environment for staff and patients in the Operating Suite.

Selection Criteria:

  1. Able to demonstrate problem solving and prioritisation skills in a work environment
  2. Be able to meet the physical demands of the position as listed in the physical requirements in the position description
  3. Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills
  4. Able to demonstrate a reasonable understanding of Work Health and Safety
  5. Current unrestricted Australian drivers licence (P2 Licence Acceptable) subject to obtaining NSW drivers licence within 3 months of appointment. Willingness to use for work purposes and may include driving long distances across the LHD.
  6. Previous experience as a wardperson would be an advantage
  7. Previous experience in the care of patients / clients
