This role is open to applicants who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander only. Aboriginality is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised in Section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW).
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated person to work for Narang Bir-rong Aboriginal Corporation (Narang Bir-rong). Narang Bir-rong provides Family Support Services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Families in Western Sydney, Nepean Blue Mountains, Northern Sydney/Eastern Sydney/Sydney and connected communities as well as Out of Home Care placements for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people who cannot remain at home due to abuse and/or neglect.
The role is full-time (35hrs) and all roles are based at our Penrith offices within the Western Sydney area. The Caseworker Family Preservation role works in the Northern Sydney/Eastern Sydney/Sydney area.
The role will ensure high quality provision of culturally appropriate and intensive casework services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children 0-18 and their families. The service aims to prevent family breakdown and to keep Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children from entering Out of Home Care.
