The National Centre for Action on Child Sexual Abuse is an independent, not-for-profit organisation established to increase understanding of child sexual abuse, promote effective ways of protecting children, and guide ways to support children and adults who have experienced child sexual abuse.

About the Job

This is a unique opportunity to be part of creating generational change for victims and survivors of child sexual abuse.

The Research Officer will support a range of activities related to the research program, including conducting reviews of academic, policy, and practice literature, developing ethics applications, undertaking qualitative and quantitative research activity, and supporting the translation and dissemination of outcomes.

This position is a parental leave position, fixed-term contract to December 2024.

We are looking for a values driven and skilled research officer, who has sound research skills, is a highly effective communicator and confident collaborator. You would be part of a multidisciplinary and dedicated team who work on diverse research and knowledge translation projects.

About You

We are looking for a person with experience in public health or social sciences research also wanting to increase their skills and knowledge with a commitment to implementation science and knowledge mobilisation. If the below sounds like you we’d love to hear from you:

  • A PhD (or near completion), or other higher research degree and relevant experience
  • Experience undertaking research and evaluation projects, with expertise across a range of research tasks and methodologies such as quantitative, qualitative, applied research and systematic reviews and evidence syntheses
  • Experience preparing evaluation framework, theory of change, research manuscripts, reports, factsheets, and other resources that are accessible to a diverse audience and for publication
  • Demonstrated project management, organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to effectively prioritise to meet conflicting deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and conflict management skills, including the ability to build and maintain positive professional relationships and communication effectively with a range of stakeholders

Remuneration & Benefits

This position attracts a base salary of $85k + laptop and accessories + superannuation + salary packaging + the flexibility of working remotely full time. 

The salary for this position is determined on the basis of the employee’s experience and qualifications.
