Position Details

  • Full Time Permanent, multiple positions available (0.6FTE to 1FTE negotiable)
  • Classification: Registered Nurse Level 2 with salary range of $96,705 - $101,566 per annum (if part time pro rata) + Superannuation or Health Professional Level 2 with a salary range of $91,706 - $102,613 per annum (if part time pro rata) + Superannuation

About your new role

As a Mental Health Clinician, you will have a background in and be registered as a Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, or a Mental Health Nurse including mental health accreditation with the relevant accreditation body in your field. If this accreditation has not yet been achieved, it is expected that this would be achieved within one year of working in the service.

You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary recovery-focused team providing high quality support to consumers of the Southern Wellbeing Hub. You will work in close collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team.

Drawing on your disciplinary skills, you will engage with consumers, the consumers treatment team, their family, friends, and carers to provide high quality, evidence-based assessments and interventions aimed at improving mental health outcomes for consumers and help them to recover from the harmful effects of drugs and alcohol. You will play an active role in disciplinary knowledge sharing with your colleagues and creating a reciprocal learning environment for staff.

What you will bring to the role

Essential:

  • Formal tertiary qualification in Nursing, Psychology, Social Work or Occupational Therapy
  • Current full registration as a Registered Nurse with current annual practicing certificate from the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) essential or Current full registration as a Psychologist, Occupational Therapist with annual practicing certificate from the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) essential, or full registration as a Social Worker with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
  • Proven clinical experience to apply evidence-based interventions including understanding of theoretical concepts within mental health and AOD sciences and their application to mental health and AOD issues and problems.
  • Experience working as a member of a multi- disciplinary team with the ability to inspire and facilitate team commitment and cooperation
  • Demonstrated experience in preparation of reports with recommendations
  • Experience working across a range of Commonwealth and State funded mental health/AOD programs and ensuring program implementation in line with funding requirements and contracts
  • Demonstrated ability to form and nurture partnerships with government and non-government mental health, AOD, emergency and community service providers
  • All staff are required to adhere to Neami immunisation and vaccination policy directives to minimise the risk of vaccine preventable diseases to protect workers, other employees, consumers, and visitors

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of local services particularly relevant to designated program area
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health, Safety and Welfare Act, policies, and practices with the ability to assess and manage clinical, work health and safety, quality & organisational risk
  • Knowledge of Equal Opportunities Legislation, policies, and practices
  • Knowledge of Professional Codes of Conduct and Ethics: aware of and practicing within relevant Federal and State Legislation and the relevant Professional Code of Practice, Conduct and Ethics
