Position Details

• Part-Time Maximum Term Contract until 15th August 2025 (0.6 FTE)
• Classification: SCHADS Level 3 with a salary range of $73,883 - $79,218 per annum pro rata + Superannuation
• Salary packaging arrangements providing tax benefits available for living and entertainment expenses increasing your take home income where part of your wage is paid tax free each pay, savings thousands in tax each year
• Location: Morphett Vale, SA

About your new role

Peer Support Workers (PSWs) offer Peer Practice and model Lived Experience ways of working within a multidisciplinary team at the Southern Wellbeing Hub. As part of the Southern Wellbeing Hub's integrated model of care, PSWs walk alongside people to understand and respond to people's need through a process of mutual listening, learning, being with, and doing together.

Peer support workers participate across multiple aspects of service with the Southern Wellbeing Hub, including offering initial support to people self-referring

What you will bring to the role

• Demonstrated ability in developing and maintaining respectful and purposeful relationships
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including computer competency
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision and to respond to complex or competing tasks in a timely way.
• Minimum Cert IV qualification in Lived Experience (e.g. Cert IV Mental Health Peer Work) or related field (e.g. Psychology, Human Services, Community Services), or complete a qualification within 2 years of employment.
• Personal lived/living experience of recovery as an individual or as a family, friend or carer. Your recovery experience may be related to mental health, suicidal crisis, drugs and alcohol use or trauma
• Willingness to identify or be identified by others as a professional with lived experience of recovery
• Willingness to share and draw on lived experience purposefully in the role to instil confidence and hope in others about the journey of recovery

What the role requires

• National Criminal History Check (police check) - disclosable outcomes considered
• Current Working with Children Check - required before commencement of work
• Current Australian drivers licence and access to a car
