The Australia Institute is an independent public policy think tank that conducts high impact research and advocates for progressive policies across a range of social, economic, and environmental issues.
For thirty years, The Australia Institute has been publishing independent evidence-based research, combined with impactful advocacy, that shapes the public policy debate and drives positive change for a better Australia.
Working closely with and reporting to the Strategy Director, this role is truly dynamic, drawing on a range of platforms to generate media coverage of The Australia Institute’s research and ensure its work leads the national debate and drives changes in public policy.
You will work collaboratively across the organisation to provide strategic media and communications advice and manage a pipeline of content across media and communications channels, responding with agility to opportunities and challenges as they arise. Overseeing the Institute’s media engagement and key communication channels, you’ll lead and inspire a talented team to raise public awareness and drive meaningful policy change. This includes:
You’re a dynamic and engaging people leader with a flair for communications and a strong interest in public policy and driving positive change. You have significant media, communications or public relations experience developed in politics, the media, NGO sector or like-minded entrepreneurial organisations.
