ABOUT THE ROLE

The role of the Area Support Manager is to support the East Gippsland Network of Neighbourhood Houses (EGNNH) by:

• Identifying and providing governance and management support to boards, committees of management and staff
• Facilitating access to training and resources available
• Advocating on behalf of members at local, state and national levels.
• Working closely with a steering committee of participating Neighbourhood Houses in the region, in the delivery of EGNNHs strategic plan
• Planning and delivering structured events and other opportunities for member engagement and collaboration

SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential:

• High level networking and interpersonal skills
• Strong leadership and organisational skills supporting and promoting long-term sustainability of member organisations
• Proven ability to advocate on behalf of community organisations
• Demonstrated ability to relate to and negotiate with key stakeholders, including government organisations
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex problems unique to the sector

Desirable:

• Sound knowledge of and demonstrable skills in the application of community development principles
• Commitment to, and demonstrated understanding of the Neighbourhood House sector
