About the Role:

We are looking for someone who can support our Executive Management Team in the development and review of company-wide policies, procedures, and work instructions to assist Northern Rivers Housing in meeting quality standards.

The Policy Officer will audit the existing policy framework and conduct gap analysis to inform and guide the implementation of updated operational policies. A key focus involves assessing policy issues, thinking creatively, and researching solutions including working with key internal stakeholders to ensure effective policy design.

To be successful in this role, you will have the ability to work within the legislative parameters and regulatory reforms relevant to affordable and social housing.

You'll be joining a dynamic and forward-focused organisation that values a creative and collaborative approach to transformation.

This is a project based role to be filled for a 6-month period working up to 4 days per week and classified at a Level 5 under the Social, Community, Home Care, and Disability Services Industry Award.

About You:

  • Demonstrated experience in providing high-level verbal and written advice that is comprehensive and considers the needs of the business.
  • Previous experience working to regulatory and legislated requirements.
  • Highly motivated, and outcome-oriented, with the capacity to respond to competing priorities.
  • Well developed analytical skills.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to input data into multiple systems.
  • Well-developed computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office Programs and the ability to adapt and learn internal IT systems.
  • A current driver’s licence, satisfactory police check, and a Working with Children Check (WWCC).

Other experience, knowledge, and skills we would like you to have:

  • Previous policy development in the Not-for-Profit or Social Housing sectors is highly desirable.

The NSW Government contracts NRH to deliver essential services to vulnerable people. This is a fixed term, part-time position (4 days per week) with the option to be based in any of our offices including Tweed Heads, NSW, Grafton, NSW or Lismore, NSW or the option to work remotely.
