About the Role

In this role you will oversee the payroll services team and the processing of our fortnightly payroll for our 350 plus permanent employees and other organisational relevant processing related to council member sitting fees. This position is expected to lead the ongoing development, management, and enhancement of our payroll services and our HRIS system (iChris) while supporting your team and making a meaningful impact to our workforce.

As the Senior Lead Payroll, you will report to the People and Culture Manager and be responsible for maintaining accurate and compliant payroll processing and provide comprehensive reporting solutions and data analytics to support decision making across the organisation. You will work in a highly engaged team environment with a great support structure.

What you will Bring

A background that offers and demonstrates that you are highly experienced in payroll processing, reconciliation and reporting with pervious supervisory experience of the function in a medium to large organisation. If you have a sound ability to interpret industrial instruments and employment agreements and keen to work with a dedicated and professional team business this could be the opportunity for you.

You will be a natural problem solver, energised by finding innovative solutions to complex problems and operating with a view of continuous improvement and effecting user friendly processes. In addition to this we are looking for

  • Formal qualifications in Payroll, Human Resources, industrial relations or similar, or the equivalent demonstrated experience in a similar level and role.
  • Sound working knowledge of contemporary payroll practices, legislation, policies, procedures and guidelines, including taxation, salary packaging and superannuation.
  • Experience leading a small team.
  • Experience with a range of payroll systems with experience using (iChris) highly desirable

This is a line level leadership position that requires you to supervise a small team and maintain the integrity of the service and the levels of customer service required to deliver effective and efficient payroll services.

We offer:

  • A base salary of $110,763K per annum plus 14% superannuation and salary sacrificing up to $15,900 + Meal Entertainment and Holiday Accommodation benefits up to $2,650 per year.
  • Other benefits under our Enterprise Agreement include:
  • District allowance of up to $4,631 per annum for individuals with dependents and $2539 without dependents.
  • 5 weeks annual leave, leaving loading, 15 days personal leave;
  • Paid Christmas close down;
  • Upon completion of 12 months of service an Annual airfare with a net (in hand) value of $2,724;
