About Us

We are North Western Melbourne Primary Health Network (NWMPHN), Victoria's largest independent, locally governed and run, not-for-profit PHN, dedicated to improving primary health care in our community.

What are PHNs?

PHNs have been established with two key objectives:

  • Increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of services for community members, particularly those at risk of poor health outcomes.
  • Improving coordination of care to ensure people receive the right care in the right place, at the right time.

A typical week may include:

  • Using organisational wide strategies to enhance the focus on the needs of young people.
  • Working and building relationships with a wide range of commissioned services and key stakeholders to effectively engage, plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate activities.
  • Lead and apply best-practice project management methodologies to achieve deliverables and performance targets in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with other NWMPHN programs to ensure commissioning contracts, plans, and reporting activities are accurate and maintained to meet internal and external (commonwealth/state government) funding requirements.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Tertiary qualification in health, social services, community development, or related studies and/or relevant ‘on the job' professional skills and expertise.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the issues faced by diverse young people who are experiencing poor physical, psychological, social, and emotional outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of the commissioning process.
  • Capabilities in effective stakeholder engagement and relationship development with various community members, health service providers and policymakers
  • High-level organisational and workload management skills with demonstrated experience in project management.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills to effectively lead and manage staff.

What's in it for you?

  • A friendly and supportive professional environment.
  • Career progression opportunities.
  • Great work-life balance (Hybrid options to work from home and in the office).

Other Benefits:

  • Generous paid parental leave for primary and secondary carers.
  • Newly Introduced Life Leave - up to 4 days of paid leave a year for cultural celebrations, family events, or your birthday.
  • Additional paid leave at Christmas/NY.
  • Fun social club and health and wellbeing activities.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake a National Police Check and Working with Children Check.
