The Manager, Quality and Risk is a key role responsible for providing leadership and direction to the Organisation, Executive Team, and Managers in the planning, implementation, and monitoring of quality improvement and risk management programs. Also, as a key point of contact to advise and support the various committees.

We are North Western Melbourne Primary Health Network (NWMPHN), Victoria's largest independent, locally governed and run, not-for-profit PHN, dedicated to improving primary health care in our community.
What are PHNs?
PHNs have been established with two key objectives:
- Increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of services for community members, particularly those at risk of poor health outcomes
- Improving coordination of care to ensure people receive the right care in the right place, at the right time.
A typical week may include:
- Supporting our leadership team in the implementation, maintenance, and review of the risk management framework, including reporting and actioning of risks
- Overseeing the effective operation of the organisation's QMS, including:
- developing, maintaining, and improving organisational policies and processes
- overseeing and reporting on quality improvement initiatives
- reporting of feedback and complaints regarding our commissioning work and other external activities (e.g., community engagement, collaborative partnerships)
- Coordinate and provide advice on the review of critical and adverse clinical incidents and/or Root Cause Analysis and ensure progress on the implementation of recommendations arising from such reviews.
- Facilitate the annual internal audit program and matrix leadership of a team of internal auditors in conjunction with subject matter external consultants/auditors.
- Design, prepare, and monitor Risk and WHS&E plans and metrics.
- Support programs in client/patient safety and improvements across the business units
- Manager two direct reports - Quality Systems Lead and Work Health, Safety & Environment Officer
We are looking for someone who has:
- Experience in the management and maintenance of Quality Management Systems and understanding and commitment to ISO 9001 Quality Requirements
- Experience in the management and maintenance of an organisational Risk Framework, covering emergency response, incident management, and Business Continuity Management plan.
- High levels of verbal communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills to establish and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
- Well-developed organisational skills, including an ability to set priorities and pursue tasks to completion and achieve targets within deadlines
- Ability to transfer your knowledge to new horizons, as you may not have previously worked in the health sector, as health sector experience is not a prerequisite.
