Victorian HIV and Hepatitis Integrated Training and Learning (VHHITAL) is a program that delivers comprehensive education and training for the primary health care workforce for the diagnosis, treatment and management of HIV, hepatitis B, including the training and accreditation of HIV and HBV medicine in Victoria, hepatitis C and sexually transmitted infections (STI). VHHITAL is a statewide program, operating out of North Western Melbourne PHN. VHHITAL works closely with a training and research consortia comprising of the Australasian Society for HIV, Hepatitis and Sexual Health Medicine (ASHM), Alfred Health and the Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity.

The Program Support Officer (PSO), VHHITAL will undertake administrative duties to support the operational development and delivery of the program. The PSO will liaise with key VHHITAL stakeholders including subject matter experts (SME) from our consortia partners, primary health care providers, and employees of Primary Health Networks across Victoria, while assisting in the delivery of quality education and training. This role is dynamic and requires the ability to manage competing priorities with a high level of attention to detail.

We are North Western Melbourne Primary Health Network (NWMPHN), Victoria's largest independent, locally governed and run, not-for-profit PHN, dedicated to improving primary health care in our community.

What are PHNs?

PHNs have been established with two key objectives:

  • Increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of services for community members, particularly those at risk of poor health outcomes
  • Improving coordination of care to ensure people receive the right care in the right place, at the right time

A typical week may include:

  • Liaising with key stakeholders including SMEs, consortia partners, and primary health care professionals among others
  • Supporting the organisation and delivery of education and training events for VHHITAL courses, including back-end support for zoom meetings and face-face sessions, liaising with SMEs and/ or consortia partners for content updates, maintaining up to date training calendars and other resources
  • Assisting with VHHITAL team administrative duties, including responding to email enquiries, maintaining CRM databases and learning management systems, and supporting RACGP accreditation processes
  • Assisting with the maintenance of s100 prescriber records including annual reaccreditation processes and maintaining contact databases
  • Providing secretariat support for stakeholder meetings

We are looking for someone who has:

Desirable

  • Key knowledge, understanding and demonstrated skills of a variety of computer systems including CRM databases and learning management systems
  • Experience assisting with the setup of events and training sessions, with demonstrated experience in administrative duties while liaising and developing positive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Tertiary qualification in administration, events management or health related field
  • Interest in the area of BBVs, STIs and sexual health

Essential

  • Experience with MS Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Willingness to work after hours and/ or on weekends as required
