Overview

The Nossal Institute for Global Health at the University of Melbourne aims to improve the health of all people globally by deepening our collective understanding of how multiple systems operate and interact to shape health through applied research, learning and partnership.

We are seeking a suitably qualified individual to join an existing multi-partner program as MEAL Technical Advisor.

About the Role

The position will support a program that is responding to the escalating need for physical rehabilitation services in low- and middle-income countries, with potential to support other areas of work as opportunities arise.

This position is a 0.8 FTE parental leave cover for an 8-month contract beginning mid-May 2024 to 31 January 2025.

We particularly welcome applications from individuals with lived experience of disability.

We work across the life-course with people with disability of all genders and identities. Our work is informed by the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and contributes to realising 2030 Agenda and related commitments to disability inclusion, equity, and leaving no one behind.

About You

You will share our vision for a more inclusive world and be able to demonstrate the following:

  • An understanding of, and commitment to, disability inclusive development or rehabilitation and allied health.
  • Monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning experience.
  • Exposure to, and experience of, applied research, program design and implementation, or evaluation.
  • An advanced degree in evaluation, development studies, or a field relevant to our practice.
  • Excellent written English and communication skills.

The following would be advantageous

  • An understanding of USAID’s MEAL and other program management requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting data collection and compilation with complex data flow requirements.
  • Experience of working and living in LMICs.
