Today, the NSW/ACT organisation, in partnership with its other state and territory counterparts, is focused on connecting with their customers in collaborative and innovative ways, which includes a focus on optimisation, shared workforces and a “no borders” philosophy. Additionally, 3 ‘Centres of Excellence’ in New South Wales and Victoria have been successfully created, resulting in new physical and virtual touchpoints within the community, integrating fundraising, marketing and communications activities, as well as enhancing an evidence-based approach to guide, therapy and assistant dog production and customer matching; as well as a seamless approach to new services development and deployment.
Collaborating closely with the NSW/ACT Board, CEO and other members of the Executive team, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will lead the enhancement and evolution of the finance function and support the continued growth and stability of the business, both in scale, diversity of services and community engagement sophistication. This will include for example managing and controlling all finance-related activity for the organisation and any of its employing entities, such as the Centre for Eye Health and Guide Dogs Australia; Develop and monitor the company’s annual budget, providing analyses, commentary and annualised forecasts and projections to the Board, its sub-committees and the CEO; Provide meaningful strategic and commercial advice on the financial implications of proposed business and investment activities. Critically you will establish and maintain strong relationships with your colleagues to identify their needs and develop in partnership a full range of business solutions.
You have extensive senior finance experience, which includes leading, influencing and continuously improving the financial, commercial and asset strategies of complex values driven B2B and B2C organisations. You will have a reputation for being self-assured yet authentic; practical yet innovative; adaptable and able to quickly anticipate, evaluate and respond to scenarios strategically and commercially in equal strength and importantly you are a team player. Equally you can demonstrate significant leadership supporting and advising CEO and Boards. These capabilities, combined with deep experience of shaping and leading customer centric teams through innovation driven periods of change and growth, will stand you apart. Your experience in high level corporate and financial reporting, taxation, audit, investment management, commercial negotiations, change management, leadership and strategy development will be complemented by a degree in accounting, finance, econometrics or related, along with a CPA or CA.
