The Finance Manager plays a critical role in the financial landscape of NRM South, by providing insights that steer management and strategic decisions. Through financial management and strategic advice, the Finance Manager supports and empowers the CEO, Board and the Leadership Team to make informed choices, driving the organisation towards its strategic objectives and ensuring the successful implementation of the 2030 NRM Strategy for Southern Tasmania and Corporate Plan.
The Finance Manager will utilise their extensive expertise and understanding of financial management, underpinned by excellent communication skills, to actively contribute to strategy and direction setting. Responsibilities will encompass guiding the identification and execution of growth and change strategies, streamlining operational business processes and improvements, and ensuring robust financial governance.
Operating within a dynamic project management environment, the position will oversee a range of financial management services, ranging from budget planning to payroll management, facilitating the organisation’s financial health and operating efficiency. Additionally, the position will play a crucial role in mentoring and supporting the professional development of the operational Finance Officer, fostering a collaborative and effective finance team.
The FTE load is flexible from 1-4 days/week.
NRM South is one of three natural resource management bodies in Tasmania and forms part of a national network of 54 similar bodies. NRM South is a not-for-profit organisation, with an office located in Hobart.
