About Council for Intellectual Disability (CID)
CID is a disability rights organisation led by people with intellectual disability. For more than 65 years CID has worked to ensure a community where all people with intellectual disability are valued.
The Role and Responsibilities
The Administration Officer will provide administrative support to CID to support the effective and efficient operations.
- Implement and maintain administrative processes and systems to support the successful operation of CID.
- Undertake general administrative tasks such as record keeping, monitoring and distribution of emails, mail outs, maintaining registers, monitoring and ordering supplies, making bookings on behalf of the Board and CEO.
- Process invoices for approval in accordance with CID’s delegation policy. Issue invoices and make payments through CID’s accounting and bookkeeping software, ensuring a high level of accuracy of information.
- Process memberships and renewals in accordance with CID processes and procedures.
- Answer calls from members, people with intellectual disability and supporters and suppliers. Provide information or direct call as appropriate.
- Assist in CID’s Annual General Meeting including issuing notices, and providing support at the meeting.
- Provide support in the onboarding of new staff.
- Work collaboratively as a member of the Corporate Services Team and provide support to the Manager Corporate Services.
- Develop and maintain office systems necessary for effective, efficient and accountable administration.
Essential Selection Criteria – Skills & Experience
- Commitment to the human rights of people with disability and the principles of participation and inclusion.
- Demonstrated organisational, administrative and time management skills with strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage competing demands.
- Ability to accurately and efficiently process orders, invoice payments and membership data in accordance with procedural requirements.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Proven experience in working independently and as part of a team
- Excellent problem solving skills.
- Sound computer skills including Microsoft Suite.
