WORK TYPE

  • Full-time or part-time position, 12 month contract with possibility of extension.
  • Sydney or Wagga Wagga location, with flexibility to work remotely.
  • Other NSW locations considered for the right candidate.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Level 5 under the SCHADS Award.
  • Salary packaging available and above Award leave entitlements.

ABOUT COUNCIL FOR INTELLECTUAL DISABILITY

CID is a peak body representing the rights and interests of people with intellectual disability in NSW. CID undertakes advocacy, information provision and projects that advance the rights of people with intellectual disability.

ABOUT THIS POSITION

This position involves working on a range of Health projects. The projects aim to increase the knowledge, skills and confidence of health professionals when engaging with people with intellectual disability through the development and delivery of e-learning, workshops and resources. The projects will also create health literacy resources to help people with intellectual disability to understand and share their health needs with health professionals. All elements of the projects are co-designed with people with intellectual disability and in consultation with disability and health professionals.

In line with the Position Description the Inclusion Project Officer will:

  • Work with people with intellectual disability to co-produce resources, content and activities which are appropriate for people with disability, including those with high support needs
  • Contribute to developing training content for health professionals, both for eLearning and workshop delivery
  • Facilitate workshops and info sessions for various participant groups, including co-facilitating training alongside people with intellectual disability
  • Develop and maintain effective communication networks with internal and external stakeholders
  • Undertake community engagement activities across a range of events, locations and networks
  • Monitor, record and evaluate data and processes to capture impact and inform continuous improvement
  • Support the participation of people with intellectual disability in all aspects of the project and more broadly in CID’s work.

Qualifications in health, teaching, adult education, training or similar fields will be highly regarded. Experience using person-centred planning will also be highly regarded.
