CID is looking for experienced Project Officers to deliver a project promoting leadership among young people with intellectual disability.

WORK TYPE

  • Full-time or part-time position (Negotiable) - Contract until June 2025 with possibility of extension
  • Sydney, NSW with flexibility to work remotely (other locations considered for the right candidate)
  • Some travel may be required
  • Level 5 under the SCHADS Award
  • Salary packaging available and above Award leave entitlements

ABOUT THE PROJECT

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Youth team at CID.

Young Leaders with Intellectual Disability aims to establish NSW's first young leaders with intellectual disability program to lead their peers aged 15-25 in a journey of self-determination and discovery during post-school transition.

You will work with a team in the co-production of a Young Leaders with Intellectual Disability program drawing from international evidence-based learning models of instruction to teach the knowledge, skills and right to lead a self-determined life.

All elements of the project are co-produced with people with intellectual disability and in consultation with disability and post-school transition professionals.

ABOUT THIS POSITION

In line with the position description, the inclusion project officer will:

  • Work with people with intellectual disability to co-produce a leadership program for young people with intellectual disability.
  • Develop resources, content and activities which are appropriate for people with disability, including those with high support needs.
  • Where required undertake community engagement activities at expos, local community networks, events.
  • Work independently and as part of a team, working closely with other teams at CID.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication networks with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the efficient and timely exchange of information and the achievement of project outcomes.
  • Ongoing monitoring, recording and evaluation of data and processes to allow for continuous improvement.
  • Support the participation of people with intellectual disability in CID's work.
