CID is looking for a Project Manager to lead the delivery of two new projects aimed at promoting Supported Decision Making within CALD communities and developing a leadership program for young people with intellectual disability in NSW.
CID is a disability rights organisation led by people with intellectual disability. For more than 65 years CID has worked to ensure a community where all people with intellectual disability are valued.
The SDM in My Language project aims to promote the right to decision making and support for decision making within three CALD communities in NSW.
The key objective is to uphold the rights, safety and wellbeing of people with disability in CALD communities by enabling people and supporters to understand and exercise their right to autonomy and support for decision making.
The suite of program elements will directly impact individuals, families and services through the provision of information, capacity building activities and resources. The project is in partnership with VALID. You will lead the project team in NSW, and oversee the delivery of the project and the project team in Victoria.
Young Leaders with Intellectual Disability aims to establish NSW's first young leaders with intellectual disability program to lead their peers aged 15-25 in a journey of self-determination and discovery during post-school transition.
You will lead a team in the co-production of a Young Leaders with Intellectual Disability program drawing from international evidence-based learning models of instruction to teach the knowledge, skills and right to lead a self-determined life.
All elements of the projects are co-produced with people with intellectual disability and in consultation with disability professionals.
First Nations people, people from a CALD background and people with disability or people with a lived experience of mental health issues are strongly encouraged to apply. CID is based in Surry Hills, Sydney. However, people from Regional and Remote areas are strongly encouraged to apply.
