About the Role

The Administration Assistant, Training Unit will provide administrative and organisational support to the planning and provision of training courses, recruitment activities and member benefits organised by Federation.

The role will also provide administration and organisational assistance to Aboriginal Education and Women’s programs.

About You

To be considered for this permanent full-time position you will need to clearly demonstrate the following essential skills and experience:

  • Computer skills, a minimum of advanced MS Office and working knowledge of database applications and travel booking applications; with relevant experience in office administration
  • Problem solving skills and the ability to absorb and understand information and relay the information to other parties
  • Strong attention to detail, planning and organising skills and the ability to work in high pressure situations with conflicting priorities, to ensure tasks are completed within deadlines
  • Proven ability to work efficiently in a team and fast paced environment
  • Excellent oral, listening and written communication skills with experience in drafting and compiling information for correspondence, and the ability to deal with people at all levels including difficult people/members
  • The ability to learn Federation rules, policies and procedures and apply these with a high degree of tact, diplomacy and political awareness
  • Respect for sensitivity and confidentiality of issues handled
  • Positive attitude to unionism

Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed, and appointment is conditional upon successful reference checks and a probationary period.

Working from home options are not supported at this time.

The hours for this role are 9am -5pm.

Successful candidate will be required to provide evidence of Covid-19 vaccination status.
