Community Transitions deliver innovative and successful rehabilitation services, and we are always looking for experienced professionals to join our expanding team. This specialist role working within our “Domestic and Family Violence/ DFV” program provides housing and support to domestic violence perpetrators . The purpose of this role is to provide suitable alternative housing for the perpetrator, which includes participation in programs and services that enable them to change their abusive behaviours and attitudes. The intention of this program is to deliver both short alternative accommodation and longer term behaviour change solution, safeguarding the wellbeing of the protected persons. This is a program that we are expecting to develop and expand in the future.

In this instance we are seeking a 0.7 FTE to work from our Port Adelaide Office. Office hours are 08:00 until 17:00 each day but we can offer flexibility, including potential to work over five days to accommodate your work-life balance, e.g., working within school hours. Due to the outreach nature of our work, we provide pool cars for all client related travel as part of our safe working systems.

Tertiary qualified, but ideally with a degree in a relevant Human Service (e.g., Social Work, Psychology, Counselling), you will have experience in both case management and accommodation provision. This is a challenging yet rewarding specialist role. Full training can be provided for those with relevant qualifications.

  1. Qualification, ideally to a degree level, in a human services discipline and/ or significant relevant experience 
  2. Experience in case management and/ or counselling individuals experiencing disadvantage, ATSI and/or ex-offenders would be highly regarded
  3. Experience providing housing services, ideally crisis accommodation, and associated support
  4. Experience and/ or an interest in social justice, criminal justice and/ or reducing recidivism would be beneficial.
  5. Candidates must be double vaccinated and have a full SA drivers licence

A copy of the job and person specification is available on our website www.oars.org.au, the role is Level 5 within the SCHADS Award which is currently $84,854 to $88,693 per annum (pro rata). Above Award leave entitlements, which are 22 days annual and 12 days sick leave per annum, and salary sacrifice is applicable.
