About this opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced and detailed orientated individual to join our small medical team and ensure all aspects of the medical service operate effectively!

Key areas of focus:

  • Records administration and data entry.
  • Booking of allied health and specialist appointments.
  • Medical support.
  • Quality.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Setup new Admissions in medical software Best Practice
    • including verification of Medicare number/full name/DOB (PRODA)
    • book new admission with Nurse and or GP as required.
    • upload all admissions paperwork to Best Practice
  • Ensure documentation on Best Practice is up-to-date and consistent with data collection requirements.
  • Load correspondence into Best Practice
  • Print medication charts at the end of the month and upload previous months medical charts to Best Practice
  • Close/finalise Best Practice record on Resident departure and notify Pharmacy.
  • Assist during GP sessions up to three times per week - including ordering of prescribed medication and feedback preparation if nurse is away.
  • Coordinate pathology collection by liaising directly with Austin Home Services
  • Confirm UDS paperwork is complete prior to Pathology collection.
  • Attend Medical meeting fortnightly to share ideas on medical team processes and keeping medical practice up to date with current evidence and government recommendations.

Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role, you must:

  1. Have experience in a similar industry and/or lived experience (advantageous but not essential).
  2. Have demonstrated knowledge and experience in medical office administration, including database management, record keeping methods and administrative procedures, and an understanding of confidentiality and privacy protocols.
  3. Be familiar in working within a health and/or community organisation.
  4. Have strong organisational and communication skills (both verbal and written), with a consultative approach to addressing issues.
  5. Be able to show initiative and capacity to work independently and adaptively to meet changing organisational needs.
  6. Be a strong team player and ability to work collaboratively with others.
  7. Be opens to giving and receiving feedback as part of TC processes.
  8. Be confident, friendly, professional approach, with the ability to relate to professionals and deal with challenging people and situations.
