About OneWave

OneWave is a non-profit surf community raising awareness of mental health through a simple recipe…saltwater therapy, surfing and fluro. Since launching in Bondi in 2013, OneWave has held Fluro Friday events at over 200 beaches across more than 50 countries, raising awareness around mental health, reducing stigma and helping people free the funk. OneWave also runs 'Free the Funk' Programs in schools, which have impacted more than 45,000 students and ‘Free the Funk’ Corporate Programs.

Position Overview

OneWave is seeking an experienced Fundraising and Partnership Manager to join our team on a part-time basis (1 day per week). This role is crucial in securing funding to support OneWave's preventative mental health programs. The ideal candidate will have a passion for mental health and a proven track record in securing sponsorships and grants and organising fundraising events for charitable organisations. The role will be working alongside the OneWave Founder.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and Implement Fundraising Strategies:

• Create and execute comprehensive fundraising plans to support OneWave's initiatives.
• Identify and pursue diverse funding opportunities, including grants, corporate sponsorships, and individual donations.
• Attract and obtain income for OneWave through Fundraising
• Implement developed strategies to obtain funds for OneWave to meet OneWave’s immediate and longer-term needs.

Cultivate and Manage Partnerships:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with potential donors, sponsors, and partners.
• Collaborate with existing partners and explore new opportunities for mutually beneficial partnerships.

Sponsorship Acquisition:

• Utilise previous sponsorship experience to secure financial support for OneWave's preventative mental health programs.
• Prepare compelling sponsorship proposals and presentations tailored to the needs and interests of potential sponsors.

Event Coordination:

• Assist in planning and executing fundraising events to engage the community and attract donations.

Reporting and Documentation:

• Keep accurate records of fundraising activities and partnerships.
• Provide regular reports on fundraising progress and areas for improvement.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a fundraising or partnership management role, preferably with a charitable organisation.
• Proven success in securing sponsorships and managing donor relationships within agreed timelines.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and remotely while staying connected with the team.
• Passion for mental health advocacy and a commitment to OneWave's mission.

Pay rate

• Contract pay rate of $400 - $425 per day
