Position Summary
The Communications Manager is responsible for developing, delivering and evaluating all communications and engagement programs related to the Open Dialogue Centre brand, marketing strategy and national campaigns. This position will contribute to the delivery of best-practice and innovative marketing and communication strategies and will work to ensure that Open Dialogue Centre promotional and positioning activities complement organisational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Working closely with the Executive Team, this role will:
- Oversee the development, delivery and evaluation of the overall communication strategy for ODC in support of organisational priorities and raising brand, image, and value proposition.
- Generating high quality content for multi-channels, translating complex information into appealing messages and stories, and creating online and offline materials including Blog stories, media releases, presentations, speeches, videos, marketing materials, and web and social media content
- Initiating, creating, and implementing digital communication and marketing campaigns and activities that drive brand awareness and lead generation, including direct customer communication through marketing automation and email campaigns and managing social and digital accounts
- Ensuring local communications and marketing strategy and planning aligns with ODC communications strategies and guidelines
- Provide strategic advice and recommendations to the ODC Executive and Board on marketing and communications strategies.
- Managing the communications and marketing budget, timelines and reporting, ensuring transparency and maximising effectiveness and efficiency
- Establish initiatives, policies and procedures that deliver ongoing improvements in service delivery
- Coordinate and manage all aspects of ODC events from conception to completion, ensuring the delivery of highly successful events.
- Other duties consistent with the position where required and/or requested by the Executive Team from time to time.
Person Specification
The Marketing and Communications Manager will be an experienced and innovative professional, with considerable knowledge and experience in the development and delivery of marketing, communication and community awareness initiatives.
Essential:
The following criteria must be met for consideration for this position:
- A tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, media, or a related discipline, and/or equivalent demonstrated experience in a related field
- Highly developed strategic marketing and communications skills with experience in leading social marketing campaigns and/or experience in community engagement methodologies.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Demonstrated experience in developing successful marketing and communication strategies.
- Proven track record in successful delivery and evaluation of communications material and campaigns.
- Proven track record in building and managing relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders including senior executives
- Ability to meet deadlines, demonstrate effective time management and adapt as necessary to the demands of multiple projects
- Self-starter with a proven ability to work independently and contribute effectively as a team member
- Good organisation skills including the ability to prioritise workload within agreed parameters.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and website navigation
