With the upcoming retirement of our current CEO, there is an opportunity for the right person to join us at Open Door Youth Housing Support Service Ltd. – Open Door.
Our Staff and Board team are proud to be associated with Open Door’s history, spanning over four decades, as one of the longest established and most successful youth homelessness services, in NSW.
We are now seeking an experienced, all- rounder for the position of CEO, to work with us to deliver on the Service’s Mission and Values and Strategic Plan.

Open Door has been delivering support to young disadvantaged people, in the St. George and Sutherland areas, since 1983.
Open Door is a not for profit, community based organisation, funded by DCJ - Department of Communities and Justice NSW, as a Specialist Housing Service.
We are governed by a dedicated Board of volunteers, drawn from our community, who ensure the Service is delivered within contract and legislative requirements.
We provide Case Management and Tenancy support to young people aged 16-25 years, who are on a low income and who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
We specialise in supporting young people who have complex needs, managing their mental health, newly arrived, or from a culturally and linguistically diverse community – CALD.
Our highly experienced team of two Caseworkers and the CEO, share a working environment which reflects the Service’s values of respect, equality and inclusivity.
Our Service encourages referrals from the LGBTIQA+ community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander – ATSI Community. The Service is free to all young people.
Open Door is Certified by the Australian Standard of Excellence Services – ASES.
Every young person deserves safe housing, a sense of belonging within their chosen community, freedom to make their own choices and the opportunities to become independent and to thrive.
The CEO is responsible for ensuring the Mission and Values of the Service are put into practice, in the daily operation of the Service; coordinating and ensuring the implementation of the Service’s Policies and Procedures and the Strategic Plan.
The CEO will collaborate with our Clients, Staff, Board, stakeholders and the community, to deliver a high quality, Trauma Informed Care support service, to assist young homeless people to access safe, affordable housing and to achieve sustainable tenancies.
The CEO will resource and co-ordinate access and communication between the Service’s clients, Board, Staff, other stakeholders and the community.
