The North Queensland Suicide Prevention Response Service (NQ SPR) offers crucial support for individuals at elevated suicide risk across Townsville, Mackay, and Cairns. Part of North Queensland PHN's mental health stepped care model, it provides timely intervention to help prevent acute service transfers.
The NQSPR is a new service delivered by experienced clinicians, aligning with the Australian Government’s mental health reform for a consumer-focused, integrated service system.

Step into a pivotal role as the Clinical Lead for the North Queensland Suicide Prevention Response Service (NQ SPR), where you will provide vital clinical oversight and inspiring leadership. This role is crucial in establishing and implementing a service delivery model that supports consumers accessing North Queensland stepped care services that are experiencing elevated suicide risk.
By utilising safety planning intervention models and the Safeside suicide prevention framework, you and your team of dedicated mental health clinicians will deliver timely, evidence-based risk reduction strategies. Engage with a network of passionate stakeholders to develop referral pathways and ensure seamless integration with existing services, amplifying the impact of your work across the community.
