Are you a Clinical Psychologist, Psychologist, Mental Health Accredited Social Worker or Mental Health Accredited Occupational Therapist who is passionate about working with young people and wants to join our headspace team?

headspace is seeking subcontracted Mental Health Clinicians who are interested in improving the lives of young people aged 12 to 25 years in a supportive and inclusive work environment.

  • Flexible arrangements (2 to 5 days per week)
  • DNA rates paid for client nonattendance or cancellation on the day
  • 20% admin fee
  • Registrar supervision for clinical psychology endorsement
  • Clinical and admin support from headspace team
  • Peer supervision with other clinicians

Interested practitioners must be eligible to provide services under the Medicare Better Access Initiative. Practitioners will need to hold or be eligible to hold a Medicare Provider Number. As headspace is striving to increase accessibility to services for young people, appointments that attract a Medicare rebate are bulk-billed.

The headspace intake team will undertake a comprehensive psychosocial assessment of all young people prior to referral to Mental Health Clinicians. A range of on-site complementary services are available should additional supports be required, including Alcohol and Other Drug counselling, Vocational and Educational support and group programs. The headspace team will work in partnership with subcontracted Mental Health Clinicians to provide a comprehensive, wrap-around service for young people.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Clinical Psychologists and Psychologists must hold full registration with AHPRA.
  • Social Workers must be Mental Health Accredited with the AASW.
  • Occupational Therapists must have Better Access to Mental Health endorsement from OT Australia.
  • All professionals must be eligible to work under the Medicare: Better Access Initiative.
