about the role

The role of the Principal Consultant, People and Engagement (P&E) is to deliver high-quality, strategically focussed human resource management business advice, consultancy and support services including delivery of contemporary health, safety and wellbeing management practices.

key responsibilities

  • Provide professional advice in the management of complex HR and industrial issues by advising on relevant legislation, enterprise agreements, awards, policies and practices.
  • Promote the development, implementation and continuous improvement of effective health and safety management practices and procedures.
  • Promote continuous improvement by developing, implementing and overseeing procedures, policies and frameworks for effective management of complex HR and organisational development issues.
  • Support, advise and enable line managers in their ongoing responsibility for effective and proactive people management.
  • Provide concise, high quality and timely correspondence and submissions of a complex nature on a full range of people management issues.
  • Actively contribute to the DJAG HR network and lead or participate in project teams as required.
  • Support Team Leader (P&E) in the delivery of strategic HR outcomes for the OPG.
  • Mentor P&E team members by facilitating development of technical and interpersonal capabilities and role modelling behaviours and attitudes that support team performance and culture.
  • While there are no mandatory qualifications for this role, practical experience in human resources or related field will be favourably regarded.
