To be successful in this role you will have a demonstrated understanding of Aged Care Accreditation, excellent clinical management and leadership skills, ideally with experience in a similar role. Developed verbal and written communication skills with an ability to inspire and motivate staff and experience living remotely is essential. Ideally, you will have some knowledge of indigenous culture and have relevant tertiary Nursing qualifications.
Menkawum Ngurra Frail Aged Hostel, part of Yura Yungi Medical Service is a 28-bed Residential Aged Care Facility in the Shire of Halls Creek. We assist both low and high-care residents with day-to-day activities of daily living, quality clinical care and provide regular outings. Menkawum Ngurra operates in a culturally appropriate manner and is supported by and forms part of the Yura Yungi Medical Service Aboriginal Corporation, an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service. Yura Yungi provides primary health care services, along with holistic, culturally appropriate curative services with integrated preventative programs.
In this Permanent, Full time role you will lead the team in delivering quality care of our residents. You will provide hands-on clinical management of the facility including overseeing professional nursing staff, carers and support staff. You will also manage quality and compliance issues. Focusing on building a quality team with motivated, caring and committed staff you will ensure you have the right team around you to deliver outstanding care to our residents.
