The Online Youth Mental Health Clinician will directly support young people using MOST in our established service roll out throughout Western Australia as well as supporting young people in our new venture to expand into QLD, NSW, VIC and the ACT mental health services.

Reporting to the Senior Clinician, you will:

  • Engagement & Onboarding: Welcome young people and families onto the MOST platform, helping users engage with clinical content and social features. Maintain regular contact via messaging or phone and assess any risks, escalating as needed.
  • Monitoring & Supervision: Keep accurate records of young people’s engagement, monitor their safety on the platform, and communicate regularly with referring clinicians to keep them updated.
  • Risk Management: Conduct thorough risk assessments for MOST users as needed and participate in a duty shift rotation to provide assessment and care coordination for users in critical situations.
  • Collaborative Development: Contribute to service development by working alongside peer and vocational workers to enhance the MOST model for supporting young people.
  • Compliance & Culture: Uphold and promote Orygen’s policies, supporting a safe, diverse, and inclusive workplace culture while assisting others in maintaining these standards.

After-hours and weekend/public holiday work is required. All shifts on weekdays are 12pm – 8pm.

What you’ll need

You are passionate, energetic and determined to make a difference to health and wellbeing outcomes for young people. The following criteria must be met for consideration for this position:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Psychiatric Nursing or Social Work and full registration with AHPRA or eligibility with AASW.
  • An understanding of youth mental health systems and an ability to apply this knowledge to the Orygen Digital context.
  • Experience working in clinical settings within the Western Australian youth mental health system.
  • Demonstrated sound ability to make decisions, problem solve, and risk manage, in relation to young person’s treatment.
  • Demonstrated awareness of mental health and social issues, experience working with individuals experiencing crises, and experience working with high-risk clients
