If you are currently working in a peer support or lived experience role in the mental health sector and are looking for the next step in your career, Orygen RTO are growing their team of peer work trainers. Come and join a dynamic team of trainers, based in Parkville!

In this role you will:

• Bring your experience as a mental health peer support/lived experience worker to the course content to deliver engaging learning content for the Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work.
• Provide teaching and learning support as required to ensure students’ satisfactory course progress.
• Participate in quality improvements of the course design and delivery.
• Participate and work with team members in the validation of assessment tools and moderation of student outcomes.
• Work collaboratively with members of the workforce development team to develop and deliver projects and training packages as required.
• Ensure professional development is continuously maintained for industry and VET currency.

What you’ll need

You are passionate, energetic and determined to make a difference to health and wellbeing outcomes for young people. The following criteria must be met for consideration for this position:

• Qualification in Training and Assessment equivalent to Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116), or willingness to complete the course or any upgrade required.
• Demonstrated industry experience in lived experience peer work in mental health.
• Knowledge of peer work models and peer workforce issues in youth mental health.
• Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.

What you’ll get in return

• $73,804 - $91,587 base pro rata, commensurate with skills and experience + 11.5% super + NFP salary packaging up to $15,900.

• Orygen will pay for and support the candidate to undertake the Cert IV in Training and Assessment during work hours
• Work with a dynamic and experienced team of peer workers and clinical trainers
