Your new job

You will be responsible for delivering manualised Virtual Reality (VR) therapies as part of a multi-site team of study clinicians, working with young people aged 14-25 with emerging or early psychosis to improve social functioning and social cognitive outcomes.

Reporting to the Director of VR Research and the VISOR CIA you will:

• Deliver a manualised Virtual Reality-based psychological intervention, which includes components of existing evidence-based treatments (e.g. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) ­as well as novel components.
• Manage and undertake mental health and risk assessment, psychological treatment, and crisis intervention.
• Be a champion for the research program, communicate regularly with, build and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Collect accurate data and complete outcome and fidelity measures for the purposes of the research trial, and complete data entry as required whilst adhering to research guidelines.

What you’ll need

You are passionate, energetic and determined to make a difference to health and wellbeing outcomes for young people. The following criteria must be met for consideration for this position:

• Tertiary qualifications in allied health or health-related discipline and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency or equivalent experience and qualifications.
• Skill and experience conducting assessment, case formulation and evidence-based psychological treatments within the youth mental health system.
• Willingness to be trained in and conduct experimental VR therapeutic intervention.
• Knowledge of policies, training and guidelines related to Workplace health, safety and wellbeing, including reporting of unsafe work practices, incidents, hazards and near miss events.
