The Role

As the People and Planning Support Officer (PPSO), you will provide customer focused comprehensive and pragmatic support to Oxfam Australia, in line with operational objectives and organisational policies and procedures. In this role, you will support three key operational areas of Risk, Culture and internal communications.

You will support the Executive Lead People and Planning in the provision of internal communications. You are responsible for developing and executing communication strategies that align with organisational goals, ensuring clear and consistent messaging across all internal channels. You will also be coordinating with different departments, managing communication tools, and planning events to enhance employee engagement.

You will also support the Risk Manager with the provision of Risk Management advisory services. In this role you will assist with driving best practice risk management approach across the organisation with a focus on implementation, maintenance and improvement of Whistleblower, Fraud Prevention, Aid Diversion and Mandatory Data Breach Protection processes.

You will support the Culture Lead in the provision of cultural transformation of the organisation. As PSSO, you assist with participatory change program that aims to align Oxfam Australia’s internal culture with the identified values and objectives. An example of a change program includes development of new approaches to work - driving equity, facilitating opportunity and enabling creative and dynamic change.

Desired Skills and Experience

A little about you (the key selection criteria)

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Project coordination and support: Demonstrated experience in coordinating stakeholders, identifying and managing project risks and timelines, and working in an agile way to achieve project outcomes in specified timeframes
  • Communication: High level written and oral communication skills, including strong attention to detail and cultural sensitivity
  • Document management and administration: Demonstrated experience in general administration, reporting and document management support, and proficiency in using technology (such as MS suite)
  • Growth mindset: Proactive and self-motivated, with a genuine interest to learn and develop
  • Analysis: Ability to pragmatically identify, collect and consider data and insights to help refine approach for effectiveness
  • Relationships-focused: High level interpersonal skills and ability to establish and navigate effective relationships with confidentiality and professionalism
