An exciting opportunity has arisen within our OzChild family in our Blacktown TFCO team.
This role, as an Individual Therapist will be working in a clinical team that consists of a program supervisor, foster carers, family therapist, skills coaches and a teacher. The individual therapist is experienced in working one to one with young people aged 12 - 17, can work independently and remain calm under pressure. The TFCO program is particularly effective for children who may have a history of trauma and/or neglect.
TFCO-A is an evidence-based treatment program which supports children ages 12-17 with a history of trauma and resulting complex behaviours, including aggression, poor school engagement, poor peer relationships, poor coping and social skills, low self-esteem, and difficulties with self-regulation. An individualised treatment plan is developed for each young person in the program with goals that focus on improving emotional and behavioural functioning. promoting positive educational outcomes. and building strong family relationships.
A young person’s goals are met through close supervision, fair and consistent limits, predictable consequences, and supportive relationships with mentoring adults. TFCO-A provides a high level of support and intervention to children in a home environment through the care of an approved and specially trained TFCO-A treatment foster parent.
