We have an exciting opportunity that has arisen in our Warrnambool office as a Team Leader for our– Stepping Stones to School - Early Years Program.

This role would suit a candidate with early years experience /primary years education experience or understanding of the sector.

We are looking for a dynamic & passionate leader to make a difference in the lives of children & families.

The Early Years Team Leader works with the Western Region Manager to provide leadership and management of the delivery and performance of all aspects of the Steppingstones to School Program and the Koorie Early Years Network, specifically relating to their respective teams/areas of responsibility. Specific aspects of this role and function include, but not limited to, reviewing policy and practice and identifying program improvements, to ensure the effective delivery of high-quality services to children and young people, their families and to carers/volunteers.

The role provides leadership, direction and support to the team and collaborates and contributes to the network of service providers in the regional Early Years Space. This collaboration and network support families to transition through a service system that improves the transitions and outcomes for the children and families involved.

As well as providing leadership and support across the relevant teams, the Team Leader will provide mentoring, professional supervision and monitor team performance. The Team Leader will support the effective integration of services and the maintenance of quality service provision.

Who we are looking for:

  • Demonstrated experience in a leadership role, managing staff and programs
  • Demonstrated understanding of local community networks and service organisations
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the current policies, practices and service delivery models and developing policy directions of the Family Support Programs combined with the ability to work within current service delivery systems.
  • Well-demonstrated written and oral communication skills and highly effective interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated analytical and conceptual skills, the ability to interpret and practice policy directions, and a capacity to solve problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to promote the role and services of the Agency and support Agency practice standards.
  • Knowledge of children’s literature and an understanding of early literacy development and the role of play in child development
  • Understanding of parenting skills and strategies.
  • Case management/assessment skills
  • Demonstrated experience working with children from birth to six years old
  • Ability to work within, lead and manage a team whilst being able to work independently
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering evidence-based programs

Essential

  • Tertiary qualification in community services, psych, social work or equivalent
  • Desirable: Qualification in education

What we can offer

A full-time permanent position - part time maybe considered.

  • SCHCADS level 7 $ 115,065.34 plus super (pro - rata if part time 0.8)
  • Salary packaging up to $15,900
  • Ex gratia days Easter and Christmas
