About the Role:

Are you passionate about making a significant impact through philanthropy? We are seeking a dedicated Philanthropy Manager to drive our Major Gift Program and Gifts in Wills (GIW) Program to new heights.

As the Philanthropy Manager, you will develop and execute OzHarvest’s Major Gift and GIW strategies. This is a pivotal role within our Fundraising team, working with the Head of Impact, Development Lead and our Visionary in Residence (Ronni Khan), to innovate and implement strategies that will secure vital funding for our mission. Specifically, you will:

  • Develop Strategic Plans: Create and implement strategic plans for both the Major Gift Program and GIW Program, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
  • Forecasting and Budgeting: Develop and execute forecasts and budgets for major gifts and bequests to support sustainable growth.
  • Drive Fundraising Goals: Lead efforts to secure $250k in NEW major donor funding within the first year.
  • Provide Expertise: Offer expertise in major donor and GIW fundraising techniques and best practices.
  • Research & Analysis: Conduct comprehensive research, cultivate relationships, solicit gifts, and steward donors effectively.
  • Collaborate Effectively: Work closely with other fundraising colleagues to maximize potential through coordinated efforts.
  • Manage Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with major donors and bequestors.

To be successful for this role, you will need:

  • 5 years experience in similar role in philanthropic and bequest giving in the NFP/NGO sector in Australia
  • A valid Police Check – or the ability to obtain this
  • Exceptional communication skills: adept at writing compelling proposals and stewardship reports, skilled in presenting information to high-profile stakeholders.
  • Proven ability in developing and executing gift plans, achieving fundraising targets with a results-oriented approach.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: capable of building and maintaining relationships across diverse sectors and senior levels.
  • Advanced organisational abilities: proficient in project management, multitasking, forecasting, budgeting, and maintaining accurate records in databases like Salesforce.
  • A strong commitment and enthusiasm towards the purpose of OzHarvest.
