The goal of Parkinson’s NSW is to improve the connection between people living with Parkinson’s (including caregivers) and the services which exist to support them – as well as improving knowledge of Parkinson’s within the community.

This role will ensure fundraising and community activities are supported and enhanced through production and sharing of resources, personal support to community fundraisers and support groups and the co-ordination of events. The role will liase with 3rd party fundraisers and the fundraising and marketing team as well as local support groups to build engagement and support fundraising activities.

  • North Ryde (2113) based with ample free parking on site

About the Role:

Parkinson’s NSW is seeking to appoint a Community and Fundraising Events Officer to join our Fundraising team and work closely with our Marketing team. With sound knowledge of fundraising, community fundraising and relationship building you will be part of a marketing, communications and fundraising team that enables Parkinsons NSW to achieve its goals. You should be able to demonstrate previous experience in this space for a smaller not-for-profit organisation where you have had a wide range of experience.

The role will:

  • Work with the Fundraising Manager to formulate the Community Fundraising Plan
  • Manage all community fundraising enquiries, including providing fundraisers with appropriate fundraising materials, i.e. brochure materials, merchandise, and general fundraising collateral.
  • Ensure all external fundraisers, including Parkinson’s Support Groups, are supported from time of enquiry to the delivery of their fundraising activity.
  • Work with the Marketing and Fundraising Managers to plan and deliver online and physical events.
  • Explore opportunities and implement plans to engage corporate and SME giving
  • Keep fundraising assets up-to-date and create relevant collateral for events and to help support fundraiser needs.
  • Work with Marketing Team to create the digital and promotion plan for events and community fundraising campaigns.
  • Maintain/update Parkinson’s NSW database, the Funraisin’ platform (when required), as well as third-party fundraising platforms.
  • Manage volunteer recruitment, day-to-day management, and coordination of volunteers for events and community fundraising initiatives and projects.
  • Work with the Fundraising Manager to support existing Community fundraising committees and develop new committees.

A bit about you:

To succeed in the role you will be an experienced hands on community fundraising professional, highly organised with excellent time management skills and resilience.

You will also have;

  • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated capacity to effectively communicate with the public and team members.
  • Sound technical knowledge with in-depth understanding of legislative and government rules around public engagement and fundraising.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
  • Sound problem solving, organisational and negotiating skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management, organisational and planning skills
  • Computer literacy within Microsoft Office packages.
