We’re excited to offer a unique opportunity for a Safeguarding Lead (Child Protection) to become part of the parkrun Asia Pacific team. Based in our Gold Coast office, this role offers a chance to make a meaningful impact within a vibrant and purpose-driven organisation.
parkrun is a global health and wellbeing charity and our vision is to create a healthier and happier planet.
Since our conception in 2004, parkrun has evolved into a global social movement with a vibrant and inclusive community at its core. As of 2024, we have recorded over 100-million instances of walking, jogging, running, and volunteering.
Our mission is to transform lives by empowering people to be active, together, outdoors in their local community; and to protect parkrun for the generations to come. Each and every weekend, we deliver free, weekly timed events that people of all ages and backgrounds can join in. By tackling barriers to participation, we encourage communities to come together and embrace regular physical activity.
Now in its 20th year, parkrun spans over 2,500 locations in 23 countries with more than 10 million people registered, and counting.
And we have really only just begun.
This role has traditionally been 3 days per week. However, we recognise that some applicants may prefer a full-time position. We are open to expanding this role to 5 days per week, with the additional days focused on areas such as project management, risk, junior parkrun initiatives, or case management, depending on the candidate’s expertise and experience and operational requirements.
We are seeking a dedicated Safeguarding Lead to serve as the primary support, advisor, and expert on safeguarding for parkrun Asia Pacific. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of parkrun and substantial experience in incident review.
In this role, you will ensure that parkrun maintains a safe and positive environment for all participants, with a particular focus on children and vulnerable adults. Your responsibilities will include managing a busy caseload of incidents and providing comprehensive support to event teams regarding their safeguarding needs.
We encourage applications from individuals of all backgrounds and particularly welcome those from underrepresented groups, as we strive to bring diverse perspectives to our work. We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive both personally and professionally.
If you share our values and ambitions, and possess the necessary skills and experience, we would be delighted to receive your application.
Applications for this role will take you to the employer’s site.
