Operations Manager

Senior leadership opportunity

We are looking for a people focused and strategic operations leader to join PCYC NSW. You will require strong commercial acumen and operational leadership experience, within the Sport and Recreation sector. Based in Sydney, with coverage of the Central Coast and Lower Hunter, you will be responsible for some of PCYC’s most significant clubs. Your passion for mentoring, developing, and enabling leaders will be key to your success.

About the role

This is a full-time strategic leadership position, reporting to the General Manager, Club Operations. In this role, you will:

  • Be an integral part of the PCYC Operations Senior Leadership team 
  • Oversee all planning, budgeting, and reporting for Clubs within your region 
  • Support the growth of PCYC by recruiting, leading and guiding Sector and Club Managers 
  • Develop programs and services using strong evaluation techniques and strategies 
  • Drive high quality member experiences in your Clubs 
  • Develop strong and broad relationships across the region, along with the partnership with NSW police Youth Command 
  • Support community goals by fostering partnerships, promoting local initiatives, and ensuring programs align with the needs and values of the community 
  • Provide performance reporting and commercial insights to drive our strategic direction with programs and activities at PCYC 
  • Lead and develop improvement in operational and financial outcomes

About You

To be successful in the role you need a passion for making real impact. As well as:

  • Significant Sport and Recreation sector knowledge and experience of at least 5 years facility/club management and 18 months multi-site management
  • Experience delivering high-quality and engaging leadership at a senior level to a large and diverse workforce
  • Strong financial and business acumen with experience in budgeting and forecasting
  • A demonstrated commitment to assisting direct reports in meeting budgets, adhering to business plans and agreed objectives and facilitating continuous improvement
  • Experience in contract management and negotiation 
  • A proven ability to set and deliver on a strategy in a complex fast-paced business 
  • Experience building successful relationships with stakeholders including government representatives, committees and other community partners 
  • Ability to work with marketing teams to promote programs and develop community partnerships 
  • A demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to compliance and risk management 
  • Demonstrated high level communication skills including written and verbal reporting 
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications 
  • Expertise with data and trend analysis, business case development and operations management experience 
  • A strong alignment to PCYC Values and behaviors
