Youth Support Worker - Aurukun

We are currently seeking passionate and keen Youth Support Worker to join our PCYC Aurukun Youth Club. If you are enthusiastic and have a gusto for increasing youth involvement in programs and events, then we want you!

Your New Role

Reporting to the Youth Club Manager, you will be one of our many valuable Youth Support Workers who work in close consultation with youth and community to provide individualised one-on-one support and assistance to young people who need additional or specialised help. You provide information, advice and referrals to service the young person needs when appropriate (e.g referrals for; drug or alcohol, mental health, housing, legal, education, domestic and family violence services).

About You

  • Minimum Certificate IV in youth work, community development/welfare, human services or related discipline or equivalent to 3 years experience in the social and community sector 
  • Experience in undertaking youth related activities
  • Hold a current drivers' licence or a light rigid driver’s licence, and a Restricted Drivers' Authority (or ability to obtain)
  • Hold a current First Aid and CPR certificate (or able to obtain)

Please note: Working With Children Check (Blue Card) No Card, No Start and Restricted Person legislation applies. All PCYC employees are required to complete a National Police Check upon commencement.
