Recent ABS data shows the prevalence of depression and anxiety disorders is rising, particularly among young people. While more funding for mental healthcare services is important, on its own this won't address the problem. We also need to start tackling the underlying root causes of mental ill-health.
That's why Prevention United is focused on promoting people's mental wellbeing and preventing mental health conditions from occurring in the first place. We know that mental health conditions are not inevitable, and we're working to build Australia's capacity and capability in promotion and prevention through our training and consulting services, and communities of practice.
And we want you to join our team.
We're looking for someone with strong experience in the field of community engagement and health promotion who can help us engage and involve people from diverse backgrounds and across the lifespan in our activities, with a particular focus on young people. People with a combination of community engagement, advocacy and policy expertise are highly sought after.
You'll be working with a small, friendly and passionate team that's punching well above its weight, and helping us to lead the way in this exciting new frontier of mental health. We offer flexibility, a positive workplace culture, and FBT exempt salary packaging.
If this sounds like the role for you, then please apply.
Prevention United is a National organisation, however this position is based in Melbourne at our central office. Flexible working arrangements are available with some after hours work required related to the community engagement activity undertaken.
This role is available at 0.8EFT.
